Wow...my 50th post!

I never though when I started this blog on 1 January this year that I would actually stick with it but here we are at post number 50...amazing! Even more amazing is that other people would actually find my blog and then follow it so a hearty thank you to all my followers and the warmest of welcomes to those who have joined us over the past week or so. Each time I visit other blogs I always find new ones to read and the inspiration I get from you all is truly appreciated.

Now the purpose of this blog was to keep me on track with my assorted projects - I've fell by the wayside a little recently, flitting from one thing to the next so...focus, girl!

My 'big' dolls house is The Laurels; I had started posting a while back about this - here's the story so far - and then stopped so we'll pick up the reins and first of all get the exterior finished. It has been repainted so many times that I'm sure it's at least 1/4" bigger than it was at the start..lol! Take care for now x

Needlefelting Revisited...

A while back I decided to try my hand at needlefelting - and surprise, it was another craft I found I loved. I've made a few little things, like....

Hector

Hamish

and Penny

I feel the urge to get out my fleece and needles again. I have a 'Pet Swap' coming up in July so it's thinking cap on and let's see what we come up with x

For Miniaturemaid...a riddle - part two!

Sorry for the delay - Wimbledon's on! But whilst watching I've been busy with more bits of card, beads and some paint. Here's a peek....

I know it's not difficult to guess which room these are for!
Rachel, they'll be in the mail tomorrow - I hope you enjoy them! Take care x

Some Days!!!!!!

Some Days.....you'd be better staying under the duvet!
Today was one such day - the car decided that it wasn't playing any longer so one trip to the dealer, two friends who provided lifts and a brand new car battery later left me significantly poorer than I was this morning!
Work...less said about that the better!
And then to top it all....after providing free board and lodgings to a visiting blackbird family throughout the spring and keeping the cats away from their young, how do they repay me? By eating my one and only strawberry! And yes, it was behind netting - houdini blackbirds it seems we have!
At least the sun's shining and tomorrow can only be better......

Flower Power!

I recently purchased a kit to make Hydrangea flowers from paper (ok, three kits but only because I couldn't decide on which colour!) I must admit that when I opened one and looked at the contents my first thought was that the petals were so tiny that they would be near impossible to handle. But I took my time and painstakingly put together these...

I am so pleased with how they turned out! It was worthwhile clipping and shaping 200 petals!!! I should have spent more time 'arranging' them but I really need to work on that skill!! I wasn't sure about the lime green one but I think they are now my favourite.

Oh... did I say I bought rose kits too? Here they are ...

Welcome Ladies!!

A warm welcome to Carolyn who joined us today and also to Rosanna who joined a while ago and who I didn't get round to welcoming, for which I apologise.
Both these talented ladies have fantastic blogs for you to peruse - why not pay them a visit?

Back in the saddle!!!

I'm slowly getting back into the mini-way..yay!!!

I completed a swap for my online group - the theme was 'Baby Swap' so I made this wee shelf to hang in the nursery complete with nappies, baby bath and powder, some lotion bottles, a sign for the nursery door and a door hanger saying "Shhhh...baby sleeping." It's winging its way across the Atlantic as I type - I do hope my swap partner likes it!

Scottish Miniatura

Yesterday I went through to Edinburgh, Murrayfield Stadium to be precise (home of Scottish Rugby!) for the once-a-year mini-fest that is Miniatura. Shows in Scotland are few and far between so it was the ideal opportunity to stock up. Sadly one particular exhibitor whose stall I was planning to raid wasn't there so here's my, vastly reduced, haul for the day.....

48th scale cottage in kit form from 'Petite Properties'

Assortment of very necessary things!

Fabulously tactile handturned wooden vases made from yew from Kim Selwood (love these!)

I can feel my mini-mojo firing up so now I can get back to work on those unfinished projects. Back soon x

My Beloved Jester!

I've been playing around with photos on the Big Huge Labs website and whilst clicking through the photos on my PC came across some of my dear departed guinea pig, Jester. Jester died last summer so in memory of him I have put together this mosaic of my favourite pics. Hope you like them - he was absolutely adorable. R.I.P. my little chunky monkey x

There are more pics of my piggies on the Flickr Photostream to the right of the screen - Casper is the white one and Stripe is the one with the stripe on his head (funnily enough!)
