Needlefelted Bears

You may remember a couple of weeks ago I showed you a little needlefelted dog I made for my friend in the US. Well, she asked if I could make a teddy bear for the little boy's bedroom in her dollhouse. I was happy to oblige and made these two little cuties.....

In return I received loads and loads and loads of tiny punched flower shapes. I am addicted to making flowers just now and they are much appreciated!

Window Boxes

The exterior of The Laurels is coming along nicely. I had wanted to keep the front of the house elegantly plain but it ended up being too plain; some greenery was required! I dug out some topiary trees I bought ages ago and sat them either side of the door (after I repainted the containers). There was still something missing so out came my trusty mountboard and I made two window boxes to match the planters.

Like so many bloggers, I've spent the past few days making flowers - it is quite addictive, isn't it? So here are my window boxes filled with geraniums, petunias and some trailing ....plants!

My inspiration for these flowers came from 'Making Miniature Gardens' by Freida Gray. This book is so informative and "uses straightforward techniques to make realistic plants from inexpensive and readily-available materials", i.e. paper, beads, wire! Recommended for anyone who wants to try their hand at miniature gardening.

Flower Power!

I recently purchased a kit to make Hydrangea flowers from paper (ok, three kits but only because I couldn't decide on which colour!) I must admit that when I opened one and looked at the contents my first thought was that the petals were so tiny that they would be near impossible to handle. But I took my time and painstakingly put together these...

I am so pleased with how they turned out! It was worthwhile clipping and shaping 200 petals!!! I should have spent more time 'arranging' them but I really need to work on that skill!! I wasn't sure about the lime green one but I think they are now my favourite.

Oh... did I say I bought rose kits too? Here they are ...
