Hats Desire

As I've been making some hats for a swap partner and thought you might like to see a window scene I made a while ago, it's called Hats Desire.
Two of the hats were gifts and everything else you see was made by me.
I really enjoy making hats and hope you enjoy window shopping...x

Allsorts of things going on....

After a gentle prod from miniaturemaid (thanks Rachel!) here's a quick update in the world of miniatureallsorts! I have been working away on minis but real life work is getting in the way and seriously curtailing my fun! After finishing the clear out of my craftroom I'm trying so hard not to mess things up again but it's soooo hard to be tidy. I've been playing around with some new designs for cushions and making cute little tassels from thread and beads. Here are a couple of the new designs...

I've also been putting together a special swap in return for the most wonderful flower kits I received from a member of our swap group. All items are to be displayed in a ladies dress shop but as I don't want to spoil her fun in unwrapping them I will post a photo of all the items when she receives it!
Other than that I've been working on full-size cross stitch projects. The Pako Dolls House is finished, larger than I expected, and added to the rest to be framed. What I like to do is make miniature versions of my finished cross stitched projects so here are a couple that I've made so far.
Promise I'll be back on the ufo-busting bandwagon soon - the plant and flower stall is so near completion that I'm ashamed I've not posted on the grand opening before now!

But before I go may I welcome some new followers to my blog - Marivigano and Angeles - Hi Girls!!!

Be back with you soon x

Boxes, Boxes, Everywhere!

Is it just me or do you all keep empty boxes too? While clearing out my craftroom I seem to have acquired all sizes and shapes of boxes: cardboard, plastic, wood, tin, ceramic. Some are just plain useful and reused to post things. Others are kept because they are beautiful and I can't bear to part with them, like this one that I keep my completed cross stitched items in while they're waiting to be framed...

Then there are the tiny ones that housed jewellery now transferred to jewellery box - they're my favourite, I've loads of them - all empty! But three boxes that I kept because I envisaged using them for miniature scenes are these three..
Measuring approximately 8" x 5" x 6" I don't think they're big enough for a 12th scale scene but perhaps as 24th scale scenes they would be perfect. The question now is - what should go in each box? I'm handing this over to you. I focus better on a project if there is a theme to work to so your suggestions would be appreciated. Might even try one of those poll-widget-thingys if we have enough suggestions. So comments at the ready....

Welcome New Followers!

A warm welcome to Tink, Aru and Ascension - I'm pleased you're here and hope you find my miniature world interesting!

Tidy It for Goodness Sake!!!

....is usually my war-cry about my sons' bedrooms but I have to admit that today when I looked at
my craftroom ...
and the dining room table...
and the sideboard...
(actually, sideboard looks quite tidy!)
and the floor at the side of my sofa...

...that I was in no position to criticise! In fact, I had to look for my camera to take these photos! So the rest of today will be spent tidying up my mess so that tomorrow I can start all over again! Have a wonderful day, everyone x

Mulberry Cottage ... won't you come inside?

I've kept you waiting long enough so here it is...Mulberry Cottage is finished (or as finished as it can be for now! There are still some bits and pieces to finish and the roof is causing me no end of problems due to the undulations around the upper windows so it has been shelved for now while I sit with my thinking cap on trying to find a solution - paperclay tiles perhaps?) As always with dolls houses it's the little accessories that make it a home and I'm looking forward to adding to this house in time so for now, won't you come inside for a tour? I hope you enjoy your visit!

There's still loads of unfinished projects to get through so I'll go back to consulting my lists and will be back with you soon.... oh, and if anyone can offer suggestions as to how to finish that darned roof, they would be most welcome x
